Shit...well I somewhat understand where he's comming from kuz I've done that to guys in the past too. Its like you don't know whats wrong or why or anything really then you realize that it could be the relationship & you get all these thoughts in your head about it & basically over-analyze then finally break off the relationship just because you can no longer figure it out & are afraid to hurt the other person but if you stay your only hurting yourself more. That probably sounds a lil crazy but thats how I've been sometimes & from what your saying he's acting the same way I was when I did something like that. My high school guidance counselor was absolutely worthless. He was a few short years away from retirement, so he just showed up for work everyday, and counted down until he could retire, with a big fat retirement package. He was also my older sister's assigned counselor. My parents always went to his superior if they ever needed anything done. Yeah, I think it really sucks that MDD might close down, that all or our "words" "feelins" and "emotions" will just be lost, and forgot. I have read many diarys on here, and learned a great deal about people including you. And even though most diary's are just bitching, or sex stories, I still liked to read..A diary is something for people to vent out on and to be creative, and that's exactly what the people on MDD did. Holy mama, what a controversial topic! There's not enough room on this website for everything to be said about it all. I think I'd have a hard time financially supporting bad decisions and actions of my kids. There's no guarantee that s/he would "grow out of it." It's my understanding of addictive behavior treatment, that those near to people making bad decisions need to create consequences for the person making the bad decisions. As a parent, those consequences could include a reduction of unaccounted spending money, unnacounted free time, use of the car, or whatnot. I don't see where a parent should be expected to sponsor and enable a childs destructive behavior, even if all in the name of "learning lessons." Physical and emotional addictions have many origins in one's youth, and part of my job as a parent is to at least not abet my child's involvement into self- and societal-destructive behavior.
